I am having a problem after aligning the light maps in my level. The problem is that after I save the level, the changes are not saved and the light maps are no longer aligned. I align them by selecting a surface and shift + middle mouse button to align the rest of the surfaces. Is there some sort of light map grid file that I need to create?

The first image represents the unaligned light map. The second is after I align the light map and the third is how the the light looks in game. These are bsp surfaces and not patches.

Thanks in advance for your help!

It might be easier to just recreate those brushes using curve patches. The lighting would look a lot smoother and you wouldn't have the spots you're concerned about.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I am not sure how to create groin vaults using patches. I used a method that required me to make cuts into bsp arches, using the clipping tool. As far as I know, you can't make cuts into patches. Is there not a way to align light maps?

The picture shows the groin vault, highlighting a section to give you an idea on how I went about building the vault. Does anyone know how to create groin vaults using patches if I can't align the light maps?
