With the Spike Video game awards taking place tonight. I thought it would be an awesome idea have our own awards, voted for by the community and we'll announce the winners on MODSonair.

The only rules are that any game you nominate, has to have been released this year (as of 10th December 2011). Any studio nominees must have either released a new title this year or released new content for an existing title.

So here's the categories and a few nominees to help you get started (If you want to vote for something that's not on the list please feel free to add it onto your list.

Um, so how do you vote?

I assume we are talking PC only? Also i don't want to come across as a TES fanboy, below is my honest opinions

Best Original Soundtrack -The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Any game that employs Jeremy Soule to compose music is going to be a winner, the atmosphere he created is just perfect for the game

Studio Of the Year - Bethesda

Skyrim was a huge success, and although i don't no the figures (apart from mw3) they probably have the highest number of units sold

Best PC Game -The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

It would be between skyrim and BF3, if you go by which one i played most and have enjoyed the most then it would be skyrim, but they are both worthy titles

Best Multiplayer -Battlefield 3

As far as multiplayer games go, BF3 has everything in the write place for me, sure there's a few bugs but the experience is still there

Best Co-Op -Dead Island

I had some good fun on dead island coop, although it became stale a but quick and the horrible FOV gave me really bad motion sickness..

Best Indie Game -Trine 2

Although minecraft is obviously a big success, it was so 'last year' now. I think frozenbyte deserve the win on this

Best graphics - Battlefield 3

Out of the box BF3 looks beautiful, skyrim being a console port also imported the horrible low res textures, but with a simple HD texture mod (tons about) it blow everything out of the water graphically. But because this isn't standard with the game BF3 takes this.

Most Mod-able - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

TES has no limits on modding, anything and everything can be changed.. winner no doubt.

Best Action Adventure game -Dues Ex: Human Revolution

Deus Ex was a fun game, not a huge fan of the ending but it was still a solid adventure so deserves a win here. If we was including console then i would vote for Uncharted 3

Best RPG - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skyrim, no explanation needed.

Game of the Year - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I think bethesda just snatched the GOTW away from the others. I think they deserve it as it's pretty much everything i wanted from a game. The only thing i wish they didn't put in it was the guard saying he 'took an arrow to the knee', if you watch youtube your know exactly why that is.

I guess you just post your answers. Don't know how effective this is but I will give it a shot.

Considering I haven't played all the games (who has the money?!) I will vote on the one I have played, which is rather limited.

My list are mainly PC games unless specified.

Best original sound track

Crysis 2

I like ACR's music. it's the same as ACII and ACB. The music haven't changed too much, especially the main themes. However, I have to go with Crysis 2. It's main theme is WOW.

Studio of the year

LA Noire's Team Blondie


Though the studio had some problems but I would give it studio of the year for release such a wonderful game, despite the problem. Yes, I am talking about the PC version. The studio fell apart around last year I think but they manage to release the PC version. Koodos and it's great they held in there.

Best PC Game and best shooter and best multiplayer

Battlefield 3

That's all I played and I know it's the best for me. I have played MW3. No way MW3 would be the best shooter. It's boring, can't do much and the maps are bigger than before and can't find anybody. Its multiplayer sucks.

Best Coop

WWE '12

Big wrestling fan. The new game came out recently. It's not really coop per se but you have a partner to face your opponents. This is for the console. Don't know if it is PC related. If it is, then ah, I don't like the game for it. The only good coop game I have played so far is MW3. It's coop is decent. Don't want to say it but...AHH! Whatever.

Best Indie game

Magicka

That's the only indie game I played that came out this year. It's good.

Best Graphics

Hands down Battlefield 3

Nothing else looks better than it.

Most Modable Game

Hmmm....tricky...no answer

Best Action Adventure Game


Haven't played it but Assassin's Creed Revelation, hands down. Don't know if LA Noire counts but I will go with ACR.

Best RPG

I see how it is, Welshy. Never played much RPG games or at all but I will go with popular opinion, TESV:S

Game of the Year

LA Noire

Battlefield 3 is runner up but LA Noire is fascinating. No one said shooters have to be the game of the year. My vote goes to LA Noire. The facial expression is top-notch, game play is top notch. Simply brilliant. There is no game out there like this. There may be an indie game but I haven't see one. LA Noire, enough said. Get it!




I don't know how else to vote, but I am following what Mystic is doing.

Posting them like you guys have is fine. I did try to come up with a better way of doing but nothing, that was simple came to mind. I'll just keep track of everyone's votes and we'll announce the winners soon.

Doesn't have to be PC, I guess if you think a console game needs to be in there we'll accept it.

On a side note, I like the idea of telling us why you are voting for that game or studio, lets keep that going as well.

Don't know how many voters you are going to get but please no fanboy stuff. I know BF3 and Skyrim are at the top of everyone's list but if there is something else that outweighs these two, please include.

To help simplify the voting, the only best graphics game is gonna be BF3. Crysis 2 doesn't come close.

You got a big job ahead of you Welshy. I was hoping for a poll to simplify the voting. Have an "other" as an option and specify the game that isn't already in the list. Just saying.

If I had "Other", and say 20 people choose it over listed games, How would I know what game they chose, was it 20 separate games or 20 votes for the same unknown game...What would we announce

Besides, I could only have one poll at a time, so voting for each category would probably take weeks. Plus I wanted to get people's reasons for voting for the game not just a random vote...

It's just a bit of fun, that makes a good topic for the show, it's not as if we're actually going to knock on people's doors and hand out these awards...

Best Original Soundtrack

They were all REALLY good, but I would have to say Skyrim, it was just all around great at times. Portal 2 would have to come in with a close second, followed by the not listed MW3.

Best PC Game

I don't necessarily agree with any of these, but I have to say Portal 2, hey, it has modding support.

Best Shooter

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, great game. Haters going to hate, but they know it was great and they secretly play it when nobodies looking.

Best Multiplayer

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, games are meant to be fun, MW3 hits that with it's feet on the ground running.

Best Co-Op

Dead Island, A friend and I just beat the campaign today, I noticed tons of improvements to the co-op side of things from when I first played it. Making it an exceptional cinematic, emotional roller-coaster.

Best Indie Game

Minecraft, new and innovative.

Best graphics

After reading the VGA nominee's. Batman.

Most Mod-able

Portal 2, full tools, full control. No more needs to be said.

Best Action Adventure game

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, well this is a silly category!
