first off id ike to say Hi , i havent been on the forums for quite a while, you would probably have seen me is CoD:Uo level design, unfortunately i have given up in that area of design becaue of schoolwork and the fact that every map i made didnt compile propely! [mad]( thats another story[casanova])

anyway.....

i recently downoaded the Bf2 editor, i wqas doing the first tutorial and things got laggy ([confused])

is it me or is this to do with my graphix card? i have a pretty crappy graphix car atm for running Bf2 (Geforce FX5200)

it runs all my other games pretty decently but the next generation of pc games will obviously require better cards! (ie: CoD2 and Bf2) i already have bf2 and runs smothley previding all the setting are on low [crazy]

obviouly i am planning on getting a better video card ive had a look in the lil book at the cards and i need help on deciding what one to get[idea]

i have a budget of £150-£200 which i could get in about 3 weeks so any suggestions would be good

hmmm.. I hope I can make a good suggestion. This is a tough question because I have seen some strange results from BF2.

Fro mthe sounds of it, you also want to be able to create and playtest maps for BF2 which is going to require even more power than a video card that can play the game.

An example of why I am hesitant to answer: I have a few computers at and and at my office. One machine in each location has a geforce FX5700. One of these machines will play the game and the other will not. The rest of the computer specs are fairly similar. Why it works this way doesn't make sense to me. ALSO, this card will not allow me to test any maps that I build (so far). To solve it, I buit a whole new computer (finished it last weekend) and am using geforce 6800 GT PCI-E.

That aside, I don't think you should get anything less than a 6600. I see some AGP 6600 cards with 256Mb memory available for around $130. I did also see a 6800 in that price range, but it was an LE which I don't suggest (LE cards are usually cards that don't meet specifications and are sold cheap).

Maybe someone can confirm that the 6600 will be able to play back test maps from BF2 before you spend any money.
