Just out of interest why do most links in the forums always link back to modsonline when you click them? [sniper]

Either use the "link button" when you post a link or make sure you actually type "http://www.randominternetadress.com" instead of just www.randominternetadress.com.

The www one points back to Modsonline.

Looks like a good start. This is SP correct? Better hurry before CoD2 is released!!!! [casanova];)

Also, try using larger and lower density patches for your terrain. Since your making a near actual size area, you save alot of tris. Keep the detail to the trenches, bunkers, etc.

I would make the 'point' rock outcroping from patch meshes kinda like an arch. Also, you might want to consider using the same terrain textures I used on DogRed and for my new map DogGreen (Vierville-sur-Mer) for a consistent look across these maps. Would be kinda cool dontcha think? I have posted them in the 'other' Point du Hoc thread here:

Good Luck!

The map is MP but an SP version may be released later... The beach is just one mesh and the accessible beach cliffs are just 3 meshes in total so my tris count is pretty low... I like your choice of textures and I will probably use textures along those lines in my map! The map is in its realy early stages as I have only been working on it for a couple of hours and I am feeling quite pleased about how its progressing!

Cheers![sniper]

the rocks look too pointy...and whats the point, exactly, of those beach obstacles sitting high up on a bunker?

I agree with ={W}=DEVIL
The idea of the obstacles was to stop planes landing on the open beaches and to slow advancing transport. Not what you'd expect to see sat on a bunker. Unless of course it was a bunker big enough to land a glider on.

Other than that it looks great, keep the theme going and you should be on to a winner.
