but of course. it should be somewhere in the tutorials though.

1 make a light
2 make an info null (right mouse click, select from menu)
3 select both light and info null and press ctrl+k (i think)

now the light will be directed at the info null, u will see a line from the light to the info null, move the info null around for best result and fiddle with the colour and intesity of the light

thanks i have done that but when i compile the bsp it says that there are no spotlights?????

You need to point it at a "info_null" ; with the light and info_null selected, press Control+K

or you can do it manually...

light
key = target / value= light1

info_null
key = targetname / value = light1

*that's what I get for having a bunch of windows open at once... [tongue]
