hi all:
sorry for my bad english, but i dont know very much. its my first post in this forum, but is beacouse i dont know english to write nice.
im creating a new mod for doom 3. i want make a external maps, and i cant light these maps, with a envolvent textures.
when i was mapping on quake, i used a surfacelight with my envolvent textures, and them I could compile with light.
nobody can help me?

well i just use the lightign select it and hit the J key mess around with the X Y Z axis of the lighting til u get it right thats what i do .... be sure to use a bit of visportals for ur lvl if its big they will help with ur frames per second in the game

Another idea for alittle better control is draw out a brush, scale it and transform it into postion over your environment then right-click on it and go to light wich will turn the brush into a light box.

that is a good idea but ur forgetting about the light fall off it will have if its perfectly inside a brush only about 3/4 will have a bright light thoguh still a good idea u can always mess with it

ya i use that method sometimes to shape the light for that one specific room; it helps[biggrin]
