Almost every mapping contest that I have seen or entered, the contents entered become the property of the contest sponsors.
The map submitted should not have been entered in any previous contest or released in any form period. If you by chance release it in beta form that would disqualify it in my books.

The MODSonline staff, which is who you would be submiting work to, are the people that contribue tutorials, and constantly strive to better the community, at a great cost to themselves of not only money, but time aswell, and if they are willing to put even MORE into a contest, you should be grateful...

You can protest/boycott if you wish, nobodies gonna come bust your kneecaps... But if your thinking someone will change the rule because you whined, your wrong, the only thing your going to achieve is turning off other people from particapating in the contest that would have otherwise...

I don't see how you can think they would want to steal from people they more/less taught... I for one wouldn't want anything to do with your map, when I could easily make my own instead...

I understand your wish to "protect" your work... But as hard as you try, anyone with abit of creativity can recreate any map, better, just by playing it ingame...

I also believe that someone who miters all the edges, and such, should win over someone who has overlapping brushes or the like, even if ingame you won't see the z-fighting...

i dont remember whining once but if you meant suggest then that just shows how much u listen to the community then...

gawsh... i have always stuck by the admins here whenever countless ppl have said "they are ignorant" or "they are stuck up their own arse" but now i am kinda jumping on the bandwagon and we have a hell of a band riding...

no loss... i've always prefered IWNations forums.

OK OK OK

Everyone has a right to their opinion. And there are valid points here from both sides of this issue. But enough is enough. This is really going nowhere and who is it helping?

Lets get back to doing what we all would rather be doing...
Making maps and helping each other solve problems.

Just my opinion.

Geez Janova, was that called for?

I'm locking up the topic. The posts generating here are no longer helping anyone. Suggestions have stopped and flaming has started.

First and foremost, everything I that I have done on the website has been for the members. It will remain that way. I take home no pay or any other tangible benefits. As a matter of fact, all I get, along with the other website administrators, is a bill each month to continue keep the website going.

What I get is enjoyment out of the website, helping it's members and creating ways for the help to continue. If it's not enough for anyone here, then don't let the door hit you on the way out. I'm gonna keep on helping and having fun doing it.
