Area 51 Gaming
Central
1-0-0 (1.000)
Streak W1
1.These top three spots are the hardest to grant to a team in the last week than any other week so far. Seeing each of the top three play through the season, I’ve witnessed how much strength each possesses. Area51 has continued to dominate the competition, and finished the season off strongly, going 16-9 in both matches on de_dust2. Their 13w streak is the most impressive in open this season which capped off with a record of 15-1. They sit at the top spot, but are followed very, very closely by both spK and Panic. These top three teams have proven to be open’s greatest teams in Season 8!

1-0-0 (1.000)
Streak W1
2.It’s hard to do these rankings when spK has yet to complete their second match for the week, but being the end of the season, I’ve seen enough from these guys to place them comfortably in the second spot. There is practically no differentiation between the top three teams this week. Each is very, very talented. Sour Punch Kids rode off of their success in Cevo-P to hold the only undefeated record in Season 8. They ran into scheduling issues, and were handed a ffl, but they have yet to be defeated.

Team Panic CSS
Central
0-8-0 (.000)
Streak L8
3.Rounding out the top three teams in Season 8 is Panic. Team Panic managed to pug most of the season, finishing with a very impressive 14-2 record. Their last two weeks were certainly their strongest matches, which gives me a great amount of hope that Team Panic has been preparing for their playoff run! They recently finished 1st at Mid West Lan, and they hope to rack up another 1st this season in Open!

4.Following their second place finish at Mid West Lan, N2P took open by storm this season! Their new roster seems to be working flawlessly, pumping out impressive wins over some notable teams. I remember choosing these guys in the preseason power rankings, and never would I have thought they would make it this far. With a 13-2 record, Nothing to Prove Gaming has one more match left to close out the season! Finish as strong as possible! Playoffs are just around the corner.

GUCCi MAYNE
Central
0-0-0 (.000)
Streak N/A
5.I don’t want to say that Gucci Mayne was over-rated, but I feel like they had some losses that were preventable. Given the chance, I think the outcome in these matches would change a lot in the playoffs. Their roster is full of many talented and experienced players, such as Spyder925 and Cerebral-Wallsy. With playoffs set to start shortly, I think the real Gucci Mayne team will show that they are in it to win it!

Brazil
Central
8-8-0 (.500)
Streak L4
6.(8)In the past three weeks, Icons of Vanity has not given up more than 5 rounds in a single match! They had a very, very impressive run this season, finishing up with a strong 14-2 record. I have no doubt in my mind that they will go far in the playoffs. They’ve dominated their opponents, and proven themselves on Lan this season. I don’t think there is going to be much holding them back until a few rounds into post-season matches.

Big Dogs
Central
0-0-0 (.000)
Streak N/A
7.(6)Finishing with a 13-3 record, Big Dogs, or Lettuce Frag as they were known as for about half the season, had one of the best runs in open by far. With only three losses, two of which needing overtime to decide, Big Dogs kept their all but one of their wins to under ten rounds against each. I have to admit, I didn’t think they would do as well as they did, but I’m very pleased with the end result.

PIRATEHOOKERS
Central
1-0-0 (1.000)
Streak W1
8.(7)Pirate Hookers has become incredibly sloppy these last few weeks, coming out with only one ffw in their last 5. It was a real change from their 10w streak to start the season. In their defense, two of their recent losses came from very high ranked teams (panic and spK). Let’s hope they can finish out this last match against The Amnesty Box strongly, and rest up before rolling into playoffs.

9.(14)Dank Energy gave me a rollercoaster ride this season. Their season was filled with ups and downs, including upsets and losses. I didn’t have much faith in Dank Energy in the beginning of the season. I had them pinned as strong starting team that would crack under the experience of the higher ranked teams. This was definitely not the case for this team this season! Dank Energy finished off the season very strongly, topping both Gucci Mayne and CAU!

It Takes Five
Central
0-0-0 (.000)
Streak N/A
10.(9)Danger Zone does not lose very often, but when they do, they get humiliated. I thought after falling to Variance 16-0 earlier in the season, we wouldn’t see anything like that again for these guys. They managed to get 2 rounds against Panic on train, making it slightly less embarrassing, but humiliating none the less. I realize this was already covered in Nebula’s take on the power rankings, but I thought I’d bring it up again, as they take on another one of the top 3 teams this week. Danger Zone is a strong team, but just doesn’t seem to have what it takes to compete with the top boys. They have a tough match to close out their season where they take on Sour Punch Kids.
