The "y" tool works, the verticies show up like u can move them, only when you highlight them in blue they just don't move, I xferd the patch to cod2 and it works fine there, tried multiple patches, even prefab ones, it's like the issue in cod2 if u select to many and mis click dragging them, except it never works and I know I am getting them properly, because it works in cod2

In CoD4 radiant, you can't click vertices when in vertex mode (V key). You need to draw a selection box to chose the ones you wanna move (hold ALT + drag LMB)

Not sure about CoD5 radiant, but you might have to hold ALT to select vertices / draw selection boxes.

Make sure none of the two vertex lock buttons is pushed down. In vertex mode (V key), locked vertices show as red dots, unlocked as green/magenta dots. If they are locked for some reason, enable the unlock vertex button and select all vertices. Disable the unlock button!

For the "Advanced patch editing dialog" (Y key) it is important, that you have the patches you wanna edit selected, but NOT in vertex mode! If you have multiple objects selected, make sure they are either terrain or curve patches, if you got a brush among them, editing won't work for any of the selected!

Also ensure, that you selected a mode (radio buttons) like Paint Height or it will do nothing as long as it's set to disabled. Hold ALT and drag LMB to i.e. paint height. Editing patches works in 2d and 3d, but only in 3d view it will show which vertices will be affected.

Try Ctrl, Alt and Shift combinations and without, maybe RMB?!

Also try a click with left mouse button directly on a vertex, hold the mouse button and move the mouse around.

Did you lock axis?
