Hello all,
Our clan wants to hold a scrim where the teams are determined by the location of each member. The problem is that our members come from 3 different main areas: North America, Europe, and Australia, and the Australians always seem to be left out. So what we need is a way to include 3 teams. We could do it in a bracket format, but that is kinda unexciting. The other way then would be to put three teams in one game.

So my questions is, is that even possible? No so much "Can we make a map with three sides", but "Can the game engine even support it?" Is there a way to script it?

Has anyone looked into it the slightest bit? Has anyone found anything interesting related to this? Bear in mind this is just an exploritory question (or series of questions) and I don't expect much! [wink] If anyone has found anything, I would love to hear from you!

Thanks
Ant

Well, the answer is yes, it can be done. There were 2 mods for COD1 and UO which did a Quad Team Deathmatch, so getting more than 2 teams on the server at the same time is possible.

Now, I sense the next question you will ask will be: how do you do it? If you can mod yourself, then find either MCHammer's Quad TDM mod or the AWE UO Extreme by Astoroth on the internet and look at the code to see how they did it.

If, on the other hand, you can't mod, then you will need to find someone competent who is willing to do it for you. It isn't easy if you know what you're doing, but at the same time it isn't the hardest thing in the world either.

Don't worry, I wont ask how, that would be just too much. [wink] I was really just looking to find out if it had been done so that I wouldn't run into a brick wall.

Thank you for the two examples. I will go take a look at them here shortly. And I have done limited modding myself, but there are a lot of us with the experience, so im sure we can figure it out.

Thank you again,
Ant
