well, it depends where you are from and how far you are willing to go, as if there is a university near you that specialises in doing things like that, and you take a course there that would be a good step, you should look online a bit more on seeing what qualifications you need and then go and persuit them in real life, try hard at it :D

Also finding glitches now wouldn't be much help as when they find glitches, they dont fix them straight away unless it is a major glitch, as usually they just wait till the next patch release and then fix it then other than that GL :D

Being good at finding 'bugs' wont get you very far in the game industry, sure they have testers but stock content is generally at a higher quality than custom content anyway.

I currently work as a tester for Ubisoft Bucharest. I chose this job because I thought it would be easier to get a job in the production department from within the company. I'm still waiting for my chance, though.
Being a tester isn't as simple as everyone thinks. You don't just "go to work and play video games". It is hard work and it can get pretty stressful as you get near the launch date.
Also, it can get pretty boring, depending on what area of the game you're testing. For example, my current project is Assassin's Creed Revelations and the mini-team I'm in is composed of 5 people that test 3 missions. Imagine testing the same mission every day, playing it over and over again, in search of some bugs. If I'm not mistaken, this is one of the definitions of insanity: doing the same thing repeatedly, waiting for a different outcome :)
But, it can also be very rewarding: finding a major issue that breaks the game, knowing that you helped in making the game better.
