How do i skin and make the skin mod.ff stuff, for the skinning in cod4. Ive looked in he tutorials and i dont see one. Can anyone help?

get Xmodel Exporter and set the path to WinRAR in the settings

select the xmodel you want to reskin, then right click on the first entry on the left side and click retrieve all files. Then convert the to DDS (not sure if you can convert all IWIs at once with Xmodel Exporter, you might have to use IWIxDDS for batch convert)

you should find the dds textures in raw\images\ and you can edit them now. When done, save as tga or dds and re-convert to IWI using Asset Manager. You need to pack the new iwi texture into an IWD archive and run it as mod.

Yep but using only iwixdds is easyer.
The weapon color maps are mostly named 'mtl_weapon_..._col'.

I think the way with xmodel exporter is more time expensive and you need to have the mod tools.

But it doesnt work with gold camos as i think there are different settings in the actual .dds when they convert it over to .iwi there are some settings that make the gold look shiny

No, the color map is exactly the same, but the material and material_properties files are different.

For shiny / reflective materials you need to create a specular color map and a cosine power map and specify them in asset manager along with 3 values called Env Mapping (min, max and exponent).
