In the xmodel folder, there's a file called "equipment_pavlov_ushanka". (Pavlovs hat) and by editing the character/mp_russian_conscript files (inculding _clean) I was able to make the russians in the mp game were Pavlovs hats.
(On the files it said "Autogenereated do not modify" but it has worked so far and no such new files have been autogenerated...)
But then I discovered the model "soviet_equipment_helmet". It would be cool if some russians wore helmet and other wore ushankas!
In mp, the britons have some different hatmodels, the helmet and the green beret. In the character/mp_brit_airborne_clean file it said "helmet" on the hatmodel, but on "mp_brit_ariborne_01" it said

character\_utility::randomElement(xmodelalias\headwear_brit_airborne::main());

And i checked the _utility.gsc file, but there was nothing particular or important (it seemed to me) with that, so i checked the modelalias file being referred to. in the modelalias file, it said:

a[0] = "xmodel/equipment_british_beret_red";
a[1] = "xmodel/helmet_british_airborne";
return a;

I tested making a russian_conscript_headwear.gsc file with ushanka and helmet as a0 and a1, and i referred to it in the conscript01 and conscript02 files and keeping the default "helmet" in conscript_clean as they do in the brit case. But it didn't work! Then i tested reffering to the modelalias in the "clean" file as well, but it didn't work. What can i do?
I did also check the prechache section for the necessary models.
(sorry for the long post)

Oops, I think I got it working. It's easier to do when you have another computer, but by putting helmet in conscript02 and ushanka in conscript01. (I put ushanka in the "clean" file) The hat changes whenever you disconnect and join again. (for the server starter, restart the game)
I don't know if simply making a new "o3" file will apply to the game.
