Hey guys, I was wondering if it was possible to get character models in Call of Duty 2 to accept decals, for example, when an explosion goes off it splashes mud onto a solders uniform, or when someone gets shot you can see a hole. I've tried editing textures in the Asset Manager with no success so I figured it might be an option only available in a modeling program, which I have none of. Is there any way I can make this possible or do I need a special program, or maybe the game engine makes it impossible? I need help.

Thanks everyone,
C.G.

i've seen decals/fx on characters in CoD5 the first time (bloody impact marks; animated, i believe using fx). I bet the game engines of vCoD to CoD4 don't support this. But perhaps you can use the playfxontag function to script something that looks similar.

in the merciless mod there is also something similar, but there the whole charactermodel is changed (for each damagetype 1 extra model) so there are like 2 or 3 different models and you have to switch between them via script

you could try to use the attach() function to attach an xmodel to a character... You might wanna look into the weaponsonback mod for this.
