hi such, I am trying to model the call of duty 2 to cod4, following this tutorial http://rgnwiki.com/index.php/Call_of_Duty_4:_Import_COD2_Models, I follow all the steps, but the model inside the game quits and textures, some idea of what may be the problem?
thanks
and forgive my poor English |

1.You have created/got a Corupt/incorrect IWD file
2.You have not named the material correctley in ass manager as named in maya/max
Try using Pakscape for creating IWD's as i find 7z and Winrar just make a corrupt iwd
Hope this helps |

I never had any problems with both. If an IWD created with them doesn't work, it's surely not compressed right. It has to be zip algorithm, not rar, 7z or something. It's really important to change it to the correct compression! |

so I do not think the problem is in making the package. a corrupt iwi I doubt that's it, that in the perfect seve radinat object with texture and everything, and there's the problem that after compiling everything in the game look no textures. I hope I explained the problem better.
@seven i know you have to change the format im not that much of a hurp durp but they never seem to work for me hence why i say pakscape works every time and is made for the quake engine
On topic when you compile you model in assman does it give you an error saying that i could not find a correct texture as this would also cause this problem,
other then that i would have to say its down to your IWD |

@bulmita: you should always package IWI textures in an IWD archive, 'cause textures will work in Radiant and in development mode only, but not if you run the game normally ( /map yourmap )

great if it works for you. i did not like it much and i find 7zip easier, as i can deeply integrate it into windows.
windows' native zip support might be a good way too for real integration:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/zipfldr.htm
i did it via regedit
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.iwd
(Default) CompressedFolder
you can then create a zip-compressed folder in explorer, change extension to .iwd and use it like a usual folder

Maybe worth posting your IWD file so that we can see if you have gone wrong in there at all as that is the only thing that could be causeing the problem if its showing up in radient textured fine |
