Is it possible to make a multiplayer gametype where one team escorts ‘hostage’ bots to an extraction point?

I already made a retrieval gametype so I would only need to switch out the objective entities with bots. However after reading about spawning bots in multiplayer it looks like they’ll have to take up a player position which would imbalance the teams. Is there a way to increase a teams size or some way I can make a bot not take up teammates spot?

Also I only started scripting little over a week ago so any help or insight is greatly appreciated. =)

You could use a script_model, and simple set the model to the bot xmodel. However you would lose any animation with this. Another possible method would be to set the bot's team to "spectator", that way the bot is not unbalancing the teams.

Yeah I'd like the hostages to be able to run to a given location so animation is a must. Setting them to "spectator" team is a great idea. Thanks!!

i'll try to create a modified pezbot, change its team to spectate, and see how that goes.
