What's suffering in your hardware is the video card. I wish I could give you a definite answer, but based on experience....

I had a geforce 5700 ultra here at home and at my office. The one at my office couldn't play the game at all. I could play the game fine here at home, but I couldn't play with custom maps, only stock maps.

All this does is put a question mark over my head as to which card will work and which one won't. I am now running with 6800GT cards and it's great.

Now, I am guessing that you can both play the game and run the editor without any issues. Your issue is with playing the custom map you are creating. There must be something in the editor that effects optimisation. How can a stock map with a ton of objects work and a simple test map not work?

There's still some learning to be done.

i see your reasoning. clearly. i belive i would have had the same hypothisies had i not had these working at one point. im still not 100% sure i entered the map i made a week ago but i am however sure that i have downloaded and run other peoples custom maps... so while i totally agree with what you are saying, the variables where a little less definative on my end. and much to my dismay i have a strong notion that your last sentence couldnt be more correct. i hate/love learning new stuff [2guns]

My map crashed too, it was while the textures were loaded. By chance I found that some objects made the map not loading correctly. I removed the bugging object and it ran well. The object was the (highest) Silo pack (like in Fushee Pass).

But the other problem i got is that the map works well on my 2 PC's, when i'm alone on it. But when i create a server (not dedicated) with my first computer, then i join it with the 2nd one, BF2 crashed (goes back to desktop without any error message).

If juste copied the folder on the 2nd computer, but i think that i have to make 2 zip's, like for officials maps, server.zip and client.zip...

Do someone knows something about that ?

I have been useing the editor them main reason for a crash at 15% is the game settings try the medium graphic settings

Also when you save the map ready to test don't tick any of the boxes that are not checked, just save it

Ya can find out the error message by running it in windowed mode just click on your shortcut and change your target line to

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 0

Hope this helps ya
