I am now far into the project to announce a new COD2 map that will be released July 4th

Here is a picture of the map, please keep in mind that the decals do not show in Radiant and still have to port some more decals over to COD2.



I have a few more things to do in the map, mostly just adding spawns and finishing up the map...

Most if not all the textures are at the same place like in the COD4 version.

A couple questions I want to answer:

Q: Will it be any different then the COD4 version
A: I am commited to make this map look very identical to the COD4 version.

Q: Will any of the COD4 Backlot glitches be fixed?
A: I am very commited in making maps where people can not get out of the map, In this map, I have adressed only the glitches, if done correctly,made you get out of the playing field. It will be impossible to get out of the map without using any cheats.

Q: So the jumps are all fixed?
A: No, nothing in the maps playing field is fixed...you can still access the jumps that are in the COD4 map, you can even use the same jumps that made you get out of the map :D, but you just can't get out of the map :L

Thank you :), I can't wait to release this map in a few days [jumping] I am working very hard to make this map look very identical to the COD4 version :)

And yes, CTF is being supported in this map :D

We really should team up. I have been creating a cod4 mod for cod2 in the past 6 months (also, you should read your private messages more often :P)

Not till sunday, cause I am on a computer that does not belong to me and only the radiant works, not the game.

Hard to explain but on Sunday I will get a in-game shot for everyone :D

Consider me interested, I would really like for a COD4 mod in COD2. I like mapping, I never tried modding yet, I just need to learn how.

One more update intil I go back home tomorrow and post an IN GAME screen shot.



The map is now finished and is awaiting testing, tomorrow at around 2 pm MDT I will post a shot for everyone.

Here is some tiny bits of details for the map.

Gametypes supported:

TDM,CTF,DM,SD, HQ

Will mods be supported?
If it works on your mod, there are alot of xmodels in this map, I do not plan to remove any xmodels in any update.

What are your plans for a map update?
Fix any map bugs, adjust any gametypes if needed, add different versions of this map, like snow, night, rain?

So what will the whole map package contain
The D3DBSP files
Custom ambient (Very awesome, yet creepy...)
custom textures.

The map size is going to be about 50-60 mb, mabey not...mabey less or mabey more.

I see you used only the color maps if you want i could make the Normal Maps and Specular Maps to make the cod2 engine to react to the lighting and also the bumps made by (normal maps) to make it more realistic.
