This is a little test i spent some time putting together at the weekend, in the event that Radiant does not get release then this *might* be a viable solution for small / medium size AIM maps or at least map not too complex.

The "map" or Hangar is within an existing Map, Nuketown in this example. All is a mix of scripting and a few tricks.

See on Youtube HERE

I wonder if it would be possible to create a "drag and drop" 3d editor for the game?

Yes, that should be possible. At least have a way for "mappers" to drop xmodels from a list, position them and then write to a log file to use the model placement into code.

It would be great if you could get that working.

I have been adding solid xmodels to custom maps in W@W for a few months now.

What with OpenWarfares hide and seek game mode, I'm sure this is a big possibility.
