No matter what I try I cannot get any kind of like ambient sound added. Trying to wrap the map up and its the only thing holding me back right now.

Does CoD5 not have like CoD4... background ambient sound that always plays? And Im trying to add a fire sound thats in the sound/SFX folder and it wont work. Followed multiple tuts I found and nothing... I dont even get any errors with how I have it setup now... but dont work.

So I tried a script struct tut *a couple of them actually* and nothing works. Even tried one right from Treyarch and it gives me compile errors LOL!

I even tried using my own sound file and still its a no go. Im ready to say screw sounds and tell people to play their own background music if the map is too silent!! LMAO!!

I have 1 sound working and its only when you shoot windows out and it makes the breaking glass sound. So this is what I got:

small_fire.wav in my sound/mp_aptcomplex folder

script struct:
targetname: looper_loop
script_sound: small_fire
script_label: looper
classname: script_struct

soundalias:
small_fire,,mp_aptcomplex/small_fire.wav,,1,1,,,7,400,,,,,,ambience,,2d,,,looping,,all_mp,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

zone file:
rawfile,sound/mp_aptcomplex/small_fire.wav

My map is a ghost town of sounds... literally not a peep of sound expect for the 8 breakable windows. I thought CoD4 sound was tough, but figured it the basics out. CoD5 sound... holy moly! I been jumping through freakin hoops for hours with no joy.

Got part of it sorted out, but now the fire sound can be heard all over the map. soundalias is marked... dist_min 7 and dist_max 400 and also have (had) script_struct with radius 400 and still sound plays across map...

clues?

I don't work with WAW. I know the sound setup and system is a little different but if the sound is all over the map then maybe it is set to Ambient? Usually that would be the only reason it would play everywhere. That or [ playsoundtoplayer ] is used.

Check your sound alias to make sure, THAT alias isn't set to ambient.
