EA has announced the release date for Battlefield 3: October 25, 2011. Utilizing DICE's proprietary 'Frostbite 2' engine, Battlefield 3 is launching on the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. The Battlefield 3 multi-platform beta is scheduled to kick-start in September. Beta passes had been given away with new game sales of last year's Medal of Honor. Battlefield 3 captures the intense reality of modern warfare across the globe. DICE is working closely with highly decorated ex-SAS operator and acclaimed author, Andy McNab, to ensure the authenticity and grittiness of today's war is captured in both the single player and multiplayer campaigns. In the single player chapters being highlighted at E3, two new playable characters are introduced. Dmitri "Dima" Mayakovsky, a Russian undercover agent, must fight his way from the Paris Stock Exchange through the crowded city streets in a desperate attempt to stop PLR operatives from detonating a dirty bomb in the heart of Paris. Jonathan "Jono" Miller, a Marine Corporal from America's heartland, is deployed to the barren dustbowl of the Tehran desert to engage PLR forces. This chapter showcases a classic Battlefield vehicle warfare experience as players embark on a large scale tank attack to neutralize the PLR base. The popular Battlefield multiplayer mode â€˜Rush' is also back and will be playable on PC in the EA booth. As before the trailers are extremely cool. For sure I will need a quad-core and win7. But for average performance I wonder what card would be needed (likely amd). I dont have a lot of cash to spend and I hope my 5770 would be good enough for smooth game play without expecting top of the line.

Awesome! Trailers looked good. And can't wait. BTW, has anyone seen the MW3 E3 videos? There are 2. I find it strange that no one posted about this yet on the forum. @Samuel033 I purchased the video card 5770 a while back. It's a good card but I exchanged it for nvidia GT240. You can get that too or stick with 5770. It's a good/decent card. I also have quad-core. So the game should work. EDIT: E3 came a bit early this year. Isn't it usually in July?

Is this Beta release date? Cause everyone knows the final release comes out November 4th and MW3 comes out November 8th that's why they all talk so much witch to buy and so...

@sam_fisher3000 i don't think anyone posted about the MW3 trailers because they were garbage? and did you guys see the gameplay? woot MW2.5 here we go. looks like they threw a team on radaint and a team of gameplay engineers to make a mod of MW2 for 2 years... they really have to blow me away on the multiplayer side for me to buy MW2.5.

Well, I will be getting both because they both look great but I am leaning toward BF3. Been a Battlefield fan for years, especially with BF2, not so much with Bad Company. MW3 looks great but the developers beat me to it. Don't say anything bad but my fifth project, part 5 is about Homefront and it is set in New York. I was inspired by Crysis 2. However, the COD developers beat me to it and made it already. I still prefer BO. I like realistic events compared to fictional stories, unless they are realistic. So it is another reason why I prefer BF, it's realistic with fictional story. And this forum is more about COD, am I right? Yet, there was nothing. Even if it's garbage this site should at least cover it. Also the MW3 2 videos, right off the bat, looks unrealistic. The first one where you plant the bomb on the submarine. Well, the rudder is moving, doesn't it suck the player in? Yet it doesn't. I don't see how you can get close to a submarine without getting sucked in or hit. BF is more realistic. I don't see MW3 as a mod but perhaps an expansion. And Splinter Cell 6 isn't at E3 this year.
