Ok, ive been using flares with my lights, and they worked fine, but now, for some reason it just started happening this morning, they shine through me geometry :\




its really bugging me because they were fine yesterday :\

what do you mean, shine through yor geo? They will do if you have caulk on the outside and your looking in.

nono, i mean its actually shining through solid peices of geometry, no caulk texture. it looks as if the light is shining over the top of it, except the top of it is way above :\

EDITG: if you cant see the pic properly, turn up your brightness a bit

I see what u mean...

For thouse who cant, look at the near side light and then the far side light. The front face of the panel has a light on it when it looks like it should only be projecting down.

Well, I haven't mapped for Doom 3, so i probably wont be any help, but why nopt either:

Make it from sctatch again, remaking the brushes, re texturing them and re-coding (if needed) and re-compiling, or;

Copying the near side light and panel over as it works on there.

Ive remade it plenty of times :\

And there is no flare on the other light in that picture.

The type of light used is irrelevent, the flare is a seperate brush textured using the "Flare" texture from the special effects folder. There are many different types, but most of them look exactly the same, and they all give the same effect for me :(
