How can i make my fire kill a player when he jumps on it.?? I dont want all my fire's to kill just sertan ones.

is this the right way to do this,by using the kill switch. ?? there is a SKULL switch in the tools section, is that nother kind of kill switch.???



Do i need to add any scripting to make the play die,when he hits the kill switch. (Hope Not)

Forgot to say im using a saveposition mode like JumpStyle, and when falling you dont die, so how can i bypass this without scripting /editing any scripts, or is it not possible to do Kill with a save mod?

Find the 'trigger' texture and draw a brush where you want the player to take damage.

right click - trigger - hurt

Press 'N' and in the key field type 'dmg' (no quotes)

In the value field type the amount of damage you want it to deal, so for example '100' would kill the player instantly. (players have 100 hit points)

is that just DMG or Damage?

anyone knows if there is a sign or a prefab for a minefield in radiant, if so where will i find it.??




or could someone be kind enought to make a minefield prefab for me please.

im geting trigger damage of only 5,and no explosions which im after.. im using Trigger/hurt KEY: dmg Value:100

Not getting no red explosions whats so ever.?

No dieing either, trigger 100, damage 5 im getting on mines and fire?

If you want it to be a minefield and not just damage the player you need to slightly change what i typed above

Do everything the same but for the key type 'targetname' and teh value type 'minefield'

As long as your loading the _load.gsc which you should be the script will take care of all the other stuff for you.

You can have that image in your map two ways:


1) open AssetManager and make a new material (convert to IWI etc etc)

2) use any texture you know, you won`t be using anywhere else (like a poster, there are many stock ones present) and convert your image to an IWI. Then rename it to the one you used in the map and whoop - there it is :)

COD4 already has a Minefield script....

check HERE

Also for the sign, you can create a prefab in seconds and use a custom texture like the one you showed above - they look good!
