So I was able to create a nice looking fixture with some simple brushes, but with how the light is reflecting off it, is whats fouling me up. Any suggestions on how to rid myself of reflection?
In this example you can see I placed the light entity inside the fixture, but it makes the outside look greyed (if I place it outside and below, then it reflects off the outter surfaces and makes them bright white)
I was thinking that using one of the "special surfaces" in assman would correct this, but no joy. The only thing Im thinking is that either change it from a "glass" surface to something that would have either "no reflection" or "minimal reflection" but not sure what surface type that would be. That or if I have to go the hard way and figure out how to create a "spec map" for the texture I think it is.
Suggestions? |

Did you make this yourself or is it a prefab avalible in radiant, if avalible where?
I made the fixture with a simple brush and using the "E" key, I just grabbed the bottom cornors and brought them in slightly to make the shape.
Thanks for saying ya like it... but it is rather easy to make (Im a noob) and my reflecting lights on it is what Im trying to figure out. It seems to be putting off the same amount of light... its just that its not what I was shooting for.
That first image was of the light entity up/inside the brush model and then I tried lowering it to outside/below, but then I get this effect... (and I do like the looks, but again... not what I was shooting for)... its suppose to be all white trasparent.

here are the lights im using,
Thid light was compleate, had a light built in !!! i did not have to add the light myself, it one of the prefab spot lights im using, not the one i was hopeing for, i need to find and try out some more, but it give a bit of lite out for my cavens,
Then there is the standard lights, which i use the 'K' button to change the colors..
but i do like your light shade.
