In my newest mod, I'm looking to replace the shoot function with something else for every gun (the 'something else' I already have figured out). How can check whether the player has just shot and is re-cocking gun (semi automatic) or is reloading?

Why check reloading? (you cant btw, unless a player emptied their clip)

Just check clipammo. If its reduced, the player fired his gun. If its increased, the player might have reloaded

Also: check the gun. A player might pick up a new gun, or switch to another weapon.

To replace shooting: make the gun into a rocketlauncher which does have no xmodel for the rockets fired, and no explosion and no damage.

I've decided, for the mod, (because you, IzNoGoD, know what mod I'm doing) am going to make a default weapon for all players, so I won't have to base the shooting increments off of all different weapons. I'll look for an xmodel of some hands and I'll have to make an xmodel somehow of a ball. However, I would like to look more into this rocketlauncher stuff.

If I am making a default gun, with a completely different xmodel (of hands probably), how can i:

I don't follow, do you want to change the guns in the game to fire rockets?

That wouldn't require changing the shoot function, just change the weapon files...
