My idea was:

Build a cannon out of a Hollow cillinder(and a hole in front ofcourse),
a trigger_push inside that and a Sphere inside that, a button that triggers the trigger_push, and some (non working) wheels.

So when the button get's pressed, the trigger_push becomes active and the sphere get's pushed out at a high speed.(And after it all works add an env_explosion and some effects..)

Now the problemo:Doesn't work..[rolleyes]
Why?This is my first attempt at doing something involving a button [rolleyes]

All help appreciated,

Nice I have an exploding-watermelon-cannon ^^.
If anyone is interested in .vmf post here.

Now something else, what would be a simple way to make it aimable, without scripting?

And if anyone knows how to make the button ignite(it's a fuse) and knows why my env_explosion hardly makes sounds, post here [drink]

Hi for you env explosion here is a tutorial map I have been working on now and then it has a crossbow in it and now a env_explosion with it thanks for the idea so when you press the button it will shoot a arrow then explode and disappear and re spawn to use again.
Have a look at that to help you set up your cannon.

Not sure how to make it target or move as yet will have to have a look see if I can do it very interesting I like a challenge.

My env_explosion isn't on my target, it's in my cannon for the effect.
My watermelon just gives an explosion when it breaks.
BTW your map was a HL2 map right?Not Css [rolleyes] I opened it up in CSS and your crossbow did work.

BTW I have an idea for making it aimable.

Put the whole thing on a func_rotating_brush.
I just don't know how to use constraints [duh]
+If you rotate the gunbarrels you also have to change the direction of the trigger_push [crazy]

I got it to work kind of the trigger push will not rotate with the cannon so I had to make it smaller and set the watermelon to re spawn so you can aim it an use it as many times as you want.
It is on a 3 second delay it was fun.[lol]

I sort of got a steady rotate thingie, only it doesnt shoot that well [ohwell]

Pretty decent aiming, it just doesnt shoot if you rotate it too far [lol]
The left and right are for rotating.
The 1-9 are for each gunbarrel.

Hey swamps,I just had the greatest idea..

Instead of turning the cannon, turn the whole room except for the cannon..
It'll look like turning the cannon but infact you turn the whole room.
This way your cannon stays in place and so do the trigger_push.
I'll try to make that this evening..

I made a fully Z-axe aimable cannon for CSS[cool].
