Hey i have been trying to find out how to make it dark out side i use a sky box but it is always daylight out and i cant figure out how to change it. This is for HL2 single player.

Go to map>map properties. And then change Skybox Texture name to anyone of These(Click) dark ones...

You can also change the amount of light in your light_environment the brightness is 300 by default and the ambient is 25 you can also change the colour of the light in them settings.
