That makes more sense
Just select the lamp and up in the toolbar there are 2 icons...one is a green 0 if I remember correctly and the other is like 2 pink boxes...one of those should drop the model to the closest surface ie. a table.
I dont have radiant in front of me to look for sure |

question1: the ladder models i found in the xmodel folder were too high. is there any way to cut them down or something?
question2: if i want to place a lump for example on a table, is there any easier way to do it other than "aiming" where the overlapping vanishes? like select the 2 models and using a key combo, stick the one on the other?is there something like this?
Q1: You can resize a modle by selecting it and hit N to bring up the entity window and add this:
targetname: modlescale
value: X (the default is 1 so use .5 to make it half the size)
and then hit enter to see it happen....may take some playing around with it to get it right.
As far as question 2...not really sure if I understand what your trying to do
its modelscale and not modlescale I guess, since I tried and modlescale did not change anything ![[tongue]](images/BBCode/smilies/tongue.gif) Thanks |

Well I wanted a way to use the stock ladders because they look cooler. The brush method and then ladder texture makes the ladder invisible. I have seen shorter ladders in custom maps but if I resize the ladder it becomes bigger or smaller. Can someone actually adjust the length of the ladder itself? Maybe I missed something, but can you please give me a direct answer? Thanks! |

You need to just lower it through the ground to make it shorter, and if it's sticking through another room, then you'll have to make your own ladder.
the ladder texture shouldn't make the ladder invisible unless you are making your ladder out of the ladder texture only. also, if you scale a ladder xmodel keep in mind that the steps will become farther apart or closer together. the proportions may look weird. |

That's why I don't want to do it this way.
The ladder is invisible if you just use the ladder texture on a brush. It isn't invisible when you use the stock model, obviously. |
