Here's an article I found that is sure to get the blood flowing. You should all know about the "Hot Coffee" incident for GTA: San Andreas. If you don't, then I suggest you checkout the latest episode of MODSonair where we discuss it further. Now, the ESRB is considering proactive protection of games from illegal modifications by third parties. This means they want to put a stop to modding. I don't see this happening, but they may make it tougher for us in the future. |

Nice story.
But cant understand why the "hidden" sex level
was put in the game at the first place.
It is not an excuse to say if we remove this or altering this
level it causes problems to other parts which stop working.
They better can blaim thereselves.
I hope there will be not a new law which says that modding
becomes illegal.
The only solution if this happens is to develop games from scratch.

i totally disagreee with your analogy PleaseMYOB
a mod is anything that changes the game from stock
this means all custom maps are in effect mods....modifications from the original gamestate
this is a disasterous decision for the gaming community, but i dont think the mod was anything that wsnt there already....
have a listen to MoDSOnAir 002

I agree to disagree...
Anything that changes the game from stock, for better or worse, is a moddification in my eyes, even if it is only limited to the gameplay of a single client for ill purposes...
I come to this conclusion by thinking if you can alter the game on an evil level, you can also do things on a good level, so you really wil never have modding come to an end, just be for select few, or the really determined...
I did listen to the episode before that post, btw... my apologies if I am out of line... |

nono - do not be sorry that you have an opinion...it is neither right nor wrong...it is YOURS - and certainly is not out of line because it differs from mine - or anyone elses for that matter
i just reread my first post, and it does sound rather pompous...it was not meant to be so - rather a hastily typed shortened opinion that i stated on the recent podcast....
i really didnt explain that well in the previous post
it is i who should be offering apologies |
