Map not listed.

Worked through the video tutorial making "GSC".
This is a excellent tutorial.

And did read this post:

Did not get this in the above post:

First create a mp folder in the main folder.
The path should be main/mp does this refferer to your
Call of Duty folder or just for creating the pk3.
When i create this mp in the main folder and put the arena
file there my map shows but does not start.




But i do something terrible wrong.

Did make these with notepad.

I have a clean install of Call of Duty since i did the reading
about to have not to many files in your main folder.
Because this can give problems.

The .gsc file has nothing to do with the map being listed. That's done with the .arena file.

Make sure, inside your .pk3 file the .arena file is located inside the "/mp" folder, not "main/mp". Can you load your map by typing "/map mp_test" in your console?

No cant load the map.

Try making your .pk3 file with pakscape instead of with WinRAR. That will work alot better I hope. The structure inside your .pk3 file is ok, but it won;t load, because its the wrong format. Happens sometimes with WinRAR.

I never ever use winRAR anymore to make .pk3 files.

The problem whas caused by WinRAR.

also, cod and coduo can only display a certain number of maps..if yours doesnt show - try removing some of the custom maps from your resource directory to free up a slot

I would like to become a "Preferred" member and i tried
but in the end it asks me for a creditcard.

I thought that "PayPal" makes payments possible wthout
a creditcard.

it does

there are 4 steps to a paypal account

the first is signing up

*that is relatively easy

the second is registering a bank account and confirming it

*this is also relatively easy - though it can take a bit of time, as paypal will deposit 2 small sums of money into your account - you then need to log into your paypal account and verify the amounts that they deposited...

***this is really as far as you need go - your paypal account is now working - and linked to your bank account - though you will need to have a paypal +$ balance to pay bills, etc....the credit card would allow you to instantly pay things and then have the money withdrawn from your bank account

the third step is confirming an address (i think - it has been a long while since i signed up)

*this is relatively easy as well...i believe address confirmation can be done one of 2 ways...either through snail mail or a telephone call

the fourth step is registering a credit card - you dont need to do this, as explained above
