This just started happening and i haven't changed anything since last playing it

when i click join game in CoD it starts to list the servers and then my firewall pops up saying

"your computer has been attacked, Type: DDoS"

and then it blocks my internet for a while

does this sound like a problem with CoD, or my firewall or my computer even (but like i said it was working and then a couple of hours later it starts doing this)

To elimitate the problem with it being CoD, try loading up your firewall program and alowing CoD full acesss to the internet, both from outgoing connections and incoming. I think it could be a problem with incoming because you say CoD stops as the server information comes IN.

well it should have full access, do i need to open any specific ports ?

Are you using the winxp sp2 firewall? God I hate that one. Although you may not want to do this, i would go out and buy another.

I found on a web site that CoD uses these ports

Especially 28960. That's the more important one. Nearly all servers use that port.



For example.

im not using the windows one, i am using Kaspersky which i bought.

anyway i added:
28960 (UDP)
28960 (TCP)
20500 (UDP)
20510 (UDP)

but it still happens the thing is though, if i join a game quickly it will let me in, or if i type connect (IP) in the console that works too

i just cant get to see the list for very long before it says i'm attacked

do an ip trace through kaspersky to find out what is attacking you - perhaps you need to adjust your filter settings, but you may also have a worm
