Here i already created the image that i wanna use but it just wont let me use it i get black screen when selecting and running my mod, If i launch my mod with out the background_american_w.iwi file it works fine once it is in it i get black screen.... Weird?

"Just place the iwi2dds converter on your desktop. Drop the IWI file onto the converter, and the converted DDS file pops out on your desktop.

Do the reverse with the dds2iwi converter: convert your edited DDS file to IWI

NB - When working with DDS files, always flatten images before saving them as a DXT5 with full mipmaps - you must have mipmaps enabled in order to successfully convert to IWI."

Never had to flatten images for cod4,5 but thanks i try if it works then your the one who made the Cod2 Vietnam mod come out earlier :)

Well i do i have a folder called zzz_vietnam in my cod2 directory it is my mod fs game folder and in there i have zzz_vietnam.iwd and inside that .iwd file i had folder called images and inside that i story all the pictures like textures backgrounds skins but it still wont work

Still cant get it to work now i am mad :) gonna take and make like 10 of these background files .iwi and use different saving options on them...

(I didn't use the flatten image before never needed it in cod4,5)

I finally solved it!
