Well its been awhile but im back working on my mod.

The problem is i have a model in which i need to hide parts of so only 1 part is showing. But so far i have had no luck findin a way (if there is one) to hide them. So im here asking you scripters if there is a way to some how hide a part of the model that i dont want shown....

Thanks,
Titan

i think that there is no way to hide/show only parts of a xmodel

but
if there is a xmodel-editor (i believe there was one for cod1 or so) which can edit only the texture, you can alpha parts of the texture so u cannot see this parts in game (and have to set different models with different parts showing/hiding)

There is some function to hide tags on weapons, not sure if you can call this on a model via Script... It is used to hide part of weapon to reduce the overall number of model in COD4/5. For this to work (on weapon at least) a tag must be created and binded to a mesh within the model then using the weapon file for this model it can be hidden or shown.

Hope this helps.

Well see ive tried that and it seems to not wanna work in cod5 sp.... ive been tryin to do this for hours on end with nothing working for me.

And i know the tags are there and bound to the model as its right from mw2 and demonseed and acouple of others had it working using hidePart in cod4 but im starting to think that removed the function from cod5 sp....

idk if this might work in cod5 but there is a dvar in cod4 something like znear x and wat that does, it doesnt show anything near the radius of x ( x being a number value ). i think its setsaveddvar( znear, x ) or something like that. that might be a cheap alternative to it.

as far as your hiding tags function, it should work unless they removed that function.

I doubt hidepart is in COD2... for the textures on Models, the best way is to use Regolith's Xmodel Exporter HERE

i guess this exports cod xmodels to obj.format, right?
so i can transfer them to cod2 (if it is possible maybe the tris doesnt fit)
is there a way to download somewhere the cod1/uo/4/5/6/7 xmodel files (+materials, images, modelparts & co.) ?

i used milkshape3d to edit and create some models (only easy things like bottles lol) so i hope it will work withit

but like someone here said before
thanks zeroy
you are DA MAN :D
