Hey thanks on the last post it worked. Anyways I'm having an issue with spawning.no matter where I put the spawn point my character keeps spawning in the same spot and in the middle of the floor. Now I kept the spawn point away from the floor but this doesn't seem to matter. I even went as far as just putting it in the middle of the room and two spots away from the floor and it still didn't work??

Sounds like you havn't got an intermission in there.

Make sure your intermisson isn't touching the wall.

Well ya it was so I moved it and still nothing it's wierd cause it's like it's not registering that I made a spawn point. My character just keeps loading into the same spot and I'm not sure if this means anything but I don't get to choose guys before I enter the map. It goes from the load screen dirrectly to the point I at.

Did you put the right kinds of spawns? If you're trying to use TDM spawns and intermissions with DM I'm pretty sure it would just act like there weren't any.

Perhaps you are loading a previoius .bsp, from before you moved the spawn and intermission.

Also make sure you have a skybox, I think that caused a similar problem for me when I tested a prefab of mine.

I think that the spawn you juse is not the ride spanw for the game type. If you have a sd map make sure you have a sd spawn and so on.

Ok.. if spawning doesn't change when you've changed the loactioans make usre you've done this:

1) Remove all spawnpoints and intermissions from your map
2) Now make 1 deathmatch_intermission and one deathmatch_spawn. Make sure the spawn isn't touvhing anything ad is hovering a few units above the ground. Make sure the intermission isn't touching anything else.
3) Save your map
4) compile and check if the .bsp file actually updated!
5) Move your map to /maps/mp (if it's not there yet)
6) remove all other versions of your .bsp file (in a .pk3 file?)
7) Run your map in dm mode. It should work now.

If it doesn't, post your compile log, because I think your .bsp isn't updating.

Well heck ya everything seems to be in working order basically I changed it from a TD to a D and it works. This confuses me though because I really didn't do anything different besides the type of spawn and this one works???

Deathmatch is the quintessential gametype. It's the one the game defaults to if you test it without specifying which gametype. No map should be without at least one deathmatch spawn and deathmatch intermisson.
