Bonjour,

Is it possible to make a Castle that looks like it's built on a cloud?
Because i'm making a Castle, well actually more a couple of towers connected trough bridges.This map has some veeeeeeeeery high towers. So you can look pretty far. I like perfection, so I don't want to be looking from the top of a tower to a stupid skybox. I want to be looking at a cloud [idea]. Oui Oui a cloud. C-L-O-U-D.
How the hell do i make one?
I always do quick compiles.Does a env_fog_controller require VIS&RAD(What is that anyway?) on normal?
And how do i make my Portal Flow compile thingie on normal faster?
It takes about 12 hours and my map is on about 25%(without all the detail). Also:Be sure to check my job hiring topic [read]

In css there is a cloud model if you got XSI and can use it to convert the model over to hl2 use that or you can make a 3D sky box or make you own cloud texture or search for a free cloud texture on the web and use that.

To speed up portal flow func_detail have a look at this page for more info on how to optimize your map

I found some cloud textures on the web this is the only 1 I liked I set the scroll rate to 0.05 it was 0.01 and I found 2 cloud textures in hammer for you to look at you can use the 1 I made or find 1 of your own to use I have put in valves cloud vmt for you to look at and use if you make your own.
With the texture I found you will have to play with the texture scale to get it to work for you good luck.
