Hi,
I'm not fully set up on Radiant and W@W modding yet but i was still wondering, having had little success finding info for this online.
Can you (considering you have the Radiant know-how) take an existing map in the W@W multi-player and turn it into a Zombie map by making the necessary additions.

Or is modding strictly limited to creating new content.

Can i make Zombie Roundhouse/Outskirts or is it just wishful thinking?

The answer would be no. You cannot edit any of the existing maps cause it is .d3dbsp file and its un-editable its auto generated by compile tools and the .map file you can use to open and edit maps but the IW/Treyarch don't give those they keep it for them selves in case of new patch for updating .d3dbsp for less glitches/bugs or any other errors

But in fact you can remake them to zombie maps but i am not sure how exactly but i know its scripts and making the blockers/models are not made via radiant they are added by using script that links witch object/model appears in witch location (x,y) coordinates but all original maps already remade to zombies maps sure they aren't so good some but still better then nothing some one at least tried to make us happy :)

Dont ask me how either but cant you export everything in an mp map... I forget the program (dx something)... and in a sense start over with all the assets? Seen it with one or two waw maps redone for cod4. Certainly not plug and play and just as much work as starting from scratch. I might misunderstand how the mappers actually did it.

************ it's called. But it probably is more work than building a map from scratch, because everything is turned into a 3D model, and the CoD engine needs solid geometry (brushes) to calculate visibility.
Also, a lot of errors might arise, especially with textures and bad geometry.

It is possible. If COD4 is possible, then WAW would be too. My custom map was "open" by some guy. [eek][rolleyes] It's on the forum. So you can get out existing maps. Unless custom maps are not as secure as the originals.

Whether it can be done or not is besides the point. It's neither ethical or, in some cases, legal to do it.

This topic has been discussed at length many times in the past on this site and it has been deiced that, whether you agree with it or not, this site cannot and will not support people essentially stealing other people's work.
