Well, lets see....

If you uninstall the whole program, then its obviously going to get rid of the error. Or just edit the preferences.

You may have to resort to going into the registery
Editor and searching for every occurance of "Radiant". And also do searches on "Sof2*",etc.
Bottom line is there are probably many occurances of these keywords in your registery.
If you are not familiar with how to run the editor,
( I am (hind end)uming you have either a W98 or Me system, Not sure if XP has the editor feature or not),
you can run the regedit.exe command by goint to the START Menu and selecting the RUN command,
then once the littel window pops up, type in

regedit.exe and hit OK. This will run the registery editor. You will see at the top of the screen Edit
go to that menu, then select the "search command",
by doing repetive searches you can examine all enteries that contain words like "Radiant".
When you find one, Delete it using the Delete command in the top menu Edit menu.

Once you are sure you have removed all traces of "Radiant, sof2,", reboot the machine.
The look for and remove all the sof2sdk directories structures.
Then reboot. If all goes well, you can now attempt to do an "initial installation".

Hope you success. I had to go through this routine twice on my system. And it was a bear because I have both MP and SP SDK packages installed which makes things a bit tougher when having to do search and deletes using the regedit.exe program.

cheers,
grb
