Hey guys,

Random-ish question. What program(s) are you using to write your scripts? I was using UltraEdit and I like its feature set but it's registration period ran out and I'm not 100% sure I want to fork out $60 for it when there could be better (and potentially free) options out there.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

You can also use Notepad in Windows[casanova]

I use Notepad++, it's free and probably the best[thumbs_up]

From what I can tell Notepad++ doesn't support the IW wordfile that comes with the modtools - which is a bummer.

If the devs are using UltraEdit, and there was something better out there, wouldn't they be using it too?

Just stick to UltraEdit since it is prob among the 'best', or you could even potentially use Visual Studio setting up your own environment with keywords and whatnot.

Sparky you make a darn good point. I'll consider it money well spent.

I'm using EditPlus 3.0 and its very good for me. It fully support these feaures: colored syntax, wordfile support and its very comfortable.

Being using Textpad and UltraEdit for a long time now, both very good for GSC coding [jumping]

Also used Notepad++ before to quickly replace textures from inside COD .map files [crazy]
