Does anyone know how I can make a 3d minigun model in Blender, then apply it to a mod in Cod4, so the weapon model will be a minigun? Also, does anyone have a model of a minigun i can use? If not i can make it myself.

You'll need Maya for that. If it was a static model, you could have exported from Blender to OBJ, then use TOXEC to convert it from OBJ to xmodel_export.
However, since you are trying to add a weapon, it will need custom animations. And TOXEC doesn't support animations, IIRC.

Anyway, you can model and animate in Blender, then export to Maya, and then use Maya's CoD4 exporter.
Next, use THIS to see how to import a weapon in the game. Be sure to download the example weapon model, so that you can see how the rigging was done, and what are the joints named. In fact, you can probably use the rig as a starting base for your model's animations (ask the creator for permission first, though).

No, the devs used Maya for modelling, so that's what modders have to use too.

But I think someone imported the minigun from MW2 into CoD4. There even was one in CoD4 SP. You should ask DeekCiti or voidsource, I think.

Just wanted to post this because I'm also interested in using Blender for models but haven't got that far yet. So I found this on modDB and figured you might want to give it a try, or if anyone else has had any experience with it. [thumbs_up]
http://www.moddb.com/games/call-of-duty-4-modern-warfare/downloads/x-to-xmodel-export-converter-151beta

Description:
Quote:
xconv v1.5.1beta This Little Programm allows to convert DirectX (*.x) and Wavefront Object (*.obj) Files to the CoD4 xmodel_export Format wich u can then convert to xmodel using the Assetmanager. Simple put the xconv.exe in your CoD4 Directory and start by doubleclick the file. All Path's the program is using are taken from the Registry so u need a correctly installed Game and Administrator-Rights. If any Questions send a EMail to eikester@hotmail.de

Thank you everyone,
Now I downloaded this minigun model from a post, I believe it was a post about how to put a minigun in to a SP map. Here

How do i use this model in MP?

Here are the mingun files.

PS: I dont want to make a completely different weapon, maybe swap the M249 Saw model with the minigun.

well u could try to placing it like in sp. though i think u will run into errors cause it uses flags. You could change all the flags into some level notify blah blah blah and see if that works. wish you luck mate.
