Gamecloud posted an interview that spills more details about the Quake Mobile game under development (btw, that's Quake on the cell phone). Some highlights that you'd be interested to know: ...the final result will be the first ever Open GL based game on a mobile phone. Quake Mobile will debut in July... in Korea where itwill be embedded in an upcoming next-generation mobile phone. The port will be able to use any mod created for the PC version of the game. That's right.. I said mods!

soon we'll have mini itsy bisty laptops hehe thats what it seems like ull be playin doom 3 or cod on ur wrist watch beofre u know it :) but thats what its all about right im just curious what a phone with open gl capa. would cost lol

i have this great idea for a od...you can be in the amazon as a spearchucker...you have to try and conquer all of these amazon women...and when you are king - all of the amazon women line up and - hang on i have a call.... lol i am still sceptical - but then i always am

no less than 2 other companies already ported quake to a mobile phone and they both did it up to a year and a half ago. i suspect one of those ports or red faction for ngage [2003] would have been the first opengl or first FPS game on a phone but i cant say for sure so i wont go off and make any unsubstantiated claims. here are links for the 2 companies that ported quake. http://www.exosyphen.com/ http://www.pdagold.com/software/detail.asp?s=500 [free download and source] http://www.bobbeetec.com/ [quake was renamed meat and comes with all new game assets]
