Found this on IW forum post made by Flipsen

Ok, basicly, it means your map is too complex, you've got too many rooms, each rooms adds exponantially more stuff to calculate for the compiler, and at some point no matter how neat you'll build you'll get this error.

What can you do to fix it?

-Re-make some buildings but then without interior

-Delete unnecessary trims (simplify your stairs, simplify windows, etc.)

-Delete unnecessary brushes

-Try to be more efficient with your brushes, try to use a minimum amount of brushes for everything.


Sometimes, it can also be terrain, in which case you'll just have to delete some terrain patches, but I'd doubt that since the terrain limit is quite high.

I think it's my terrain.
My map has a lot of terrain patches all over it, then those have alpha textures on them for blending, I also removed the middle of the map (lots of terrian patches with few brushes) and it compiled fine. Damn.

Whats going to set the size of your map is your vis. data size. For uo you want under 300,000 and even at that high of vis.data size you better have a fast pc with alot ram.
This error is sometimes caused by bending a single patch to much. goto this cordinates (-4200.5 6363.25 105.
25) (-4200.5 6458.5 126.75) (-4105.5 6363.25 115). by using the menu up top in compiler goto misc/ gotoposition and enter the cordinates in and see what it points to, sometimes a edge of or a patch and redo it

What density did you use on your meshes? My terrain is usually 512X512 with a density of 3X3. Using those settings I can get away with a fairly large map. For areas I need more detail I simply increase the density. You have to be very frugal with stuff in UO. Wish they would re-do UO with a better engine. AND MORE NATIONALITIES.[jumping]

And another thing, clean out your directory. When you compile you only want the stock game files in there. Your just asking for trouble with all those maps, well except maybe mine.[crazy]

Well, my map is a trench-based map, so 'No-mans-land' has a lot of raised/lowered terrain, as well as blending from grass to mud.
The co-ordinates point me to one of my terrain patches in the middle, which is 1332X1332 with a density of 15X15.
Hmm... map worked fine with it before I done the German bases and their side of the map.

Well that means that adding those bases were just enough to set you over the limit. Look at places where you can cut back on mesh density. Trenches need a lot of vertices but surrounding meshes may not.

Just for future maps, I always add bases, tanks jeeps, 88's etc., first as a prefab, placed out of the way while I work on the map, It helps to avoid problems like this from cropping up later. I guess you can say I've been there, done that.[ohwell]

I guess I'll re-do No-mans-land using 10X10 per terrain patch as opposed to 15X15 when I don't feel as ill.[banghead]
