Perhaps you should read before posting Sam Fisher. Perhaps you neglected to read the links that Sparky posted, and you would realize that there are level designer positions open that don't require a degree nor require knowledge in computer science. Please, for the sake of yourself, read and understand before posting, doing otherwise makes you seem childish and ignorant.

Do you want to be a Single-Player or Multiplayer Designer on some of the best selling and most critically acclaimed shooters of all time?
Infinity Ward wants to talk to you if you fit this description:
You are a master of building beautiful levels and environments with a critical eye towards first-person shooter gameplay scenarios.
You are extremely proficient with 3D modeling either in proprietary tools (Radiant, UnRealEd etc.) and/or commercial 3d packages.
You can show us phenomenal screenshots for full 3D levels for an existing title or personal project.
Requirements:
 
Demonstrable experience that will blow our minds: we are very selective, but it's worth it if you make the cut.
Strong game design skills: must be able to intelligently discuss the strengths of weaknesses of recent games. Must be able to list techniques used to make fun FPS combat.
Serious long term passion for First Person Shooters, Console or PC.
Ability to collaborate with your team to create and refine gameplay mechanics.
Prioritize well and meet deadlines.
Communicate progress with the lead designer well and frequently.

Why don't you carefully read my post. Did I say that it has to be people who has a degree or knowledge In computer science? No I did not. It was just a statement. If you know CS you get the upper hand. And besides, the common assumption would be that you would need to know CS since those companies deals with it. Stop jumping to conclusions and start using your brain. It's there for you to use, not to make irrational conclusions. Stop calling people childish when they are not at all. I am not in a good mood right now so don't let me set a fire.

If you know Cs, they may promote you and offer you to do scripting. And that quote that you posted, it says that you just need to be a master at level designing. Says nothing about not having a degree. Then you prove it with a quote that says it.

just a observation but why does practically every argument on here involve you 2? it gets very annoying that every time me and others comment on a forum we get several messages after of off topic bickering? i intend to inform admins that again a forum is off topic so they can lock it

Anyways, it may not be out in March since we heard nothing from the devs.

How long did it take for COD2, 4 and 5 mod tool to come out? It was earlier right? Then it would make sense that BO mod tool will take longer since there are more stuff.

Anyways, no worries.
