Hey everybody i have recentley imported the candy cane from winter crash into my snow map but every time i link it to a player via script its on its side. as with a normal model its allways upright

now im not sure what i am doing wrong would anybody be able to help me ?

If you need more info let me know and i shall post a few screenshots.

cant you just rotate the candy cane when you give it to the player? or if u have maya and know how to do all of that, your best bet will just be to simply do it there. If you dont have maya dont worry about it as its to hard if you dont know what your doing (and cost a lot too!)

So couldnt you just do candycane rotatex(90,1); or whatever angle its on when you give it to the player?

i dont beleve i can use the rotatex function as it is being set as the playermodel.

As for maya i have maya but unfortunatley every time i try the rotate tool re extract it and everything i re build my ff and then run it is still the same way so i am at a loss >.<

What it may be then, is that they have set a "tag" and bound the tag to the candy cane skin, so its the tag that they rotate somehow. But usually turning it in maya works.

Or what it could be is that is the standard axis for what ever you are doing, as it does not have a tag, it doesnt matter what you do they all come up like that.

Try other models without tags, see if they come up like that, if not you might have to tag it

dont forget to freeze your transformations after rotating the mesh in maya before exporting to cod4, else it will use the local coordinates and rotations...

how do u mean freeze it o.O sorry bit of a newb when it comes to maya >:(

@ukdjaj this was a script originaly used on stock models russian farmer. and he was upright >:)

For any model you attached to the player you should be able to give it an angles...

Code:

        //create a model to attach everything to
	self.candycane = spawn ("script_model",(0,0,0));
	self.candycane setModel("candy_cane_model");
	self.candycane.origin = self.origin + (0, 0, 0);
	self.candycane.angles = self.angles;


The self.angles; might need adjust to rotate it.
