I'm sick and tired of seeing people constantly run about the forums asking how to edit stock maps or bsp files they have. Here is the answer. The answer will NOT change.

You CAN NOT edit a stock map in order to add your own buildings etc. You CAN NOT open a BSP file in Radiant. The only way to edit a map is with the .MAP file, and there is NO WAY to turn a .BSP file into a .MAP file for Call of Duty.

There ARE minor edits you can make to stock maps, such as entities or textures. However, this proccess often leads to buggy and/or corrupted maps. If you, for some reason, deleted ALL of your files related to a specific map EXCEPT for your .BSP, then sorry but the only way you'll get it back is through a system restore or recovering the .MAP from your recycling bin.

I am tired of having to answer this question every single day, and I'm sure the other regulars on the forum are tired of it as well. Good Day to you all, and Happy Mapping

so if possible, how do you edit a .bsp file? u know, from a stock map. because i really wanted to change ahhaha just kidding, the real question is why are the stock maps the only thing that SD people play, and especially rifle SD. Custom maps keep the game alive to me, but i guess thats just me.

Bravo ={W}=DEVIL. Well said. This should be a sticky as this topic will move down the list and be unseen. It's obvious people don't use the search feature. Thsi topic should be stickied in both forums not just one.

really - you can post this and sticky this thread and many like it over and over...but i have come to notice that this question gets asked at least 3 times a month...usually in a run...no matter how many times it is stated that you cannot do it[angryalien]
