It MIGHT affect it.
Im not familiar with multiple binds per key, but theoretically it could work.
You have to try multibinding a key though.

Has anyone tried using an execkey line in the hud.menu file checking the "w" key?

Regardless it is not possible to check if the player is holding down the key as all menu responses (afaik) are only fired once when the key is first pressed down.

If you just want to check for movement, run a loop on a player and compare current with previous origin. Compared with the player angles you should be able to get the movement key that has been pressed pretty accurately.

I think we tried hud.menu, it didn't accept any key presses. Besides, execKey only detects single key presses, not someone holding them down

I would like to assign AD and WS to the movement of a vehicle, not using the angles where you are looking to.

Since using a vehicle is something you can unmistakeably tell when they're doing it, idk, at the time of being placed in the vehicle, I dunno, bind key A to "openscriptmenu whatever driveleft" and deal with the rest via the menurespones script. However, I don't know if it resends it over and over when you hold it down, so that might not work, but it's the first thing that comes to mind.
