Thanks for the extra input guys, its good to know that assett conversion between versions is also pretty straight forward. I have been switching caulked brushwork layouts back and forth between COD4 & WAW radiant, and its just a simple ctrl+c ctrl+v :), I can also copy over caulked patches the same way from COD4 to WAW, but when I try to move patchwork from WAW into COD4 the editor crashes. Does anyone know why this is, and if there is a way around it?
Im now cautious to create substancial patchwork in my pre-Black Ops layouts incase this happens..

possable that the codwaw mesh is finer than the radiant mess in codmw think there should be no issues codwaw going to cod bops,
but not sure how they will set up radiant in steam, the steam file is large as it is

Thanks, yeah fingers crossed it works with no problems. I'll deffo make space for whatever is needed however big the files are ;)

Is there anyone here who has done a WAW to COD4 conversion and has experience of converting the patchwork over?

Exactly, caulk brush + patch should come over easily from WAW. Same with clips/portals.

the most common error that i have got porting is (node error, node is out of reach),
which is also common with patch work, if you bend a fine mess funny , it will give the error, but the map still compiles fine ,till you have to many node errors, also portal leaks from patchs just dont bend them too wild ,xmodels are a finer mesh and also animations just use maya or milkshape to convert them
and or

remember that you can just add the cod waw textures though asset tools, turn textures to jpeg, and convert them to the new game,
(use tut, adding custom textures)
simply open map and the textures will all be there ,
the hard part is removing the models replacing them, and recreating the loadscreen, and mini maps

thats very interesting! maybe BO will see pavlov then if I don't have to retexture "all" of it! [thumbs_up]

yep if you look at my maps matmata or newvillers for waw, or even dawnville (i made from scratch BTW but used the cod 2 textures ), you will see a lot of the old cod 2 textures, there will still be a few stubborn ones that you will have to replace but this is a way to get 90% done with out adjusting the map ,it does take a day or 2 to convert all the textures,
so by saying its easy..., still takes time, also i have noticed the the cod bops has nearly all the same textures as cod waw & even cod 2

if treyarch deliver maybe I could port all 3 over....with some twists naturally! [biggrin]
