Nice article, i havn't read through properly but scanned through each page and didn't see any mention of the series best game, that being UO? Whats all that about!? Unless i missed it.

The article is very bi-ased after a review. For example... Quote: Even the executable file of the PC version was named CALL3.EXE This simply isn't true... The executables were called iw3sp/iw3mp respectively. Reason being? This was Infinity Ward's 3rd release and it marked the 3rd version of the game engine.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I was informed at one point in time that it was Trey that came up with the rank up system in CoD3 - not IW in MW as described in this article. I dont have - nor have I ever had a console to play that title so I cannot confirm this... but I am sure that many of you out there will point out if this is incorrect.

I do and I have and I am pretty sure you're right Stryder. It wasn't quite like the rank system that is on CoD 4 but it was definitely the foundation for the whole thing. If I remember correctly they also brought in the class system. You had 7 classes to choose from, Rifleman, Light Assault, Scout, Medic, support, heavy assault and anti armour. Each had there own weapons and abilities. There was then a 3 level system on each class. As you leveled each one up you gained better abilities on that class. For example the scout could call in mortar strikes. On level one you got a small 1 round burst but on level 3 you got a massive barrage of shells. This video explains it a little better than I did. Also wasn't there some type of rank system in UO or was that just a mod?
