well ive hit problem with compiling my map, since my original cod4 CD burnt out ages ago due to a faulty DVD drive that span to fast, i now play cod4 with a crack, everything works fine when playing normally.
Ive jsut finished my first map, and gotten though the compiling process, but when i hit "test map" i cannot start the game, and i just get a "insert DVD or CD" message. Is there any possible way to get around this, since i really dont want to have to buy the game again, and i would like to finish off the map to play in.

i did a quick search on google and got nothing.

There are different opinions of what im about to suggest, some against whilst personally i think it's a perfectly good way to run game without Cd's and do it with all my games that require disks.

Have a look here, make sure you download the crack exe for the correct patch version you have installed

I would suggest buying your games from steam from now on. no disc needed. before I had cod4 legally I tried to make a map with a cracked version and I couldn't find away to get my maps to run.

I understand the ease of use, but just remember, by using cracks you are willingly breaking the law...

I've removed the links, not because I don't necessarily agree with using a no CD/DVD patch providing you actually own the original game and have a valid and legally obtained CD key, but because both those sites provide links to cheats, hacks and on one of them utilities for use in circumventing copy protection.

Which this site does not and or will not support anything along those lines.

I agree that my post was indeed breaking the rules, although I find it wise to spread such a site, as it is one of the few sites that do not incorporate trojans in any of the cracks hosted there.
