Been a while since I mapped so maybe overlooking something.....but I am having issues in radiant with the textures looking all jumpy

Never had this issue before so is there a way to fix it?

I used a regular texture then copied that and set it on top then selected a blend texture and this is what I get

[confused]

Looks like z-fighting. Sometimes you get that even with blend textures. If the patches are a perfect copy of each other, it should fine in game.

Been playing around and it seems like it only does it when I have adjusted the verts for the terrain.....if I use a flat patch it works perfect

Wasnt sure if I ticked a setting or what but it sure makes it tougher to blend....lol

Yeah, it's probably a good idea to do all of your patch blends last, when you're done shaping and tweaking, and with a copy of the original patch.

I usually do but was trying some things out to see how they looked.

And I fixed the issue.....

Just select both patches and hit Ctrl-G to snap to grid

i was having a similar issue with radiant where i was copying the patch and laying back over for blending

after re-aligning the copied patch didnt sit correctly on the top of the original , the blend patch flickered like you show in your screen shot , like you said , the way to correct this was to select the patches and press ctrl + G to snap to grid

annoying

but this problem only occured when using the space bar to copy

the solution was to select the patch you want to copy and press ctrl + C

the press ctrl + V

(copy an paste)

worked for me and has the added advantage of saving time re-alligning as when pasting the copied patch only the new patch remains selected and ready for blending

means you dont have to re-align , small thing but quicker

hope that helps [thumbs_up]

(credit to Paulo88 for helping me with this issue , cheers)

The error is caused by irregularity from one patch to the next copied one. You can simply select both patches, hit V, and connect the verts that are conflicting.
