I was able to export the UTX file as a DDS format. There has got to be something we can use to open that up and convert to jpg etc. I know we can copy all the textures from UT into UT2K3. I need to get them in BMP format so I can use them in 3ds Max.

ok.. got something for you...

DXT TOOLS.zip is a package of sample dxt images and a pluging to work with them.

and the Mictosoft stand-alone utility.

both are suppose to be able to open dds files and create dxt files.

I found these on the UDN site

Just found a UTX viewer and it's supposed to be able to extract also. Downloading now. Will post link if it works. Also will check out Foyleman's findings which may be better.

That UTX viewer I looked at had in setup or install so don't know how to use it. I did not see any EXE's either.
The UDN site points to Adobe or Microsoft. The Microsoft file is 166mb's so that is out for the weekend. lol Am going to look for the Adobe plugin.

Here is the link to the dds plugin for Adobe Photoshop. I am at version 6.0. It is down at the bottom of the page. While in UnrealEd I rightclicked on the texture and exported as DDS.
I opened the file just now in Adobe Photoshop. It also looks like it is all intact. Don't know how it will react when I convert it to bmp though.
